YOU WON’T SEE THE LAST OF THE WONDER KIDS

The Vida Cult – Opening for Last Of The Wonder Kids at their Halloween gig at Old Lloyds Grimsby. A band from across the Humber with a sound reminiscent of mid 00s indie bands like The Kooks and The Wombats. So, if you like that era of indie rock you’ll like them.

Mint – Grimsby’s finest. A band who have been around the block over the past few years , London, Manchester, Paris etc. and been supported by BBC Introducing. They’re loud, a bit grunge, a bit punk. Last night, at Old Lloyd’s Arms dressed as Kiss for the Halloween gig, they did what they did best performed their riffy, in your face tuneage with the energy of the Duracell bunny. Their frontman Zak showing the crowd, what Mint are about.

Last Of The Wonder Kids – What a headliner. Like Mint, LOTWK have been doing rather well for themselves. They descended on their favourite watering hole, Lloyd’s Arms heading proceedings of their Halloween show. They were dressed as The Ghostbusters (which no one, including myself had even noticed until their frontman had mentioned).  Bright summery riffs and backing vocals from their female bassist. Happy indie: with songs about doing about doing sickly sweet things for your lover: Lemonade and the monotonous side of life, Morning Routine.
